How-To: Enter an expression with a brace below it (underbrace) - OpenOffice.org Math
- To enter an expression with a brace below it or an "underbrace," first click on the "math commands window" here.
- Once the cursor appears you can start writing the expression.
- Start by typing in the variables or expressions that you want to appear ABOVE the underbrace. Type them within "braces" like this so that they are grouped as one.
- Then, press space and type in the word "underbrace." This should place an "underbrace" below the variables we just specified.
- Afterwards, press space again and type in the variable or expression that you want BELOW the "underbrace." Type them within braces as well to group them as one term or expression.
- For this example, we have typed in the variable "x."
- Great! As you can see, we have written an expression with an "underbrace." Congratulations!
