- To place an expression within "round brackets" or a parenthesis, first click on the "math commands window" here.
- Once the cursor appears you are ready to type in the expression. First we need to insert the "open parenthesis" symbol, or the "left round bracket."
- You can use the keyboard to do this. SImply press and hold the "shift" key on a standard keyboard and press the "9" or " ( " key. This should insert the "open parenthesis" symbol.
- Next, release the shift key and press space.
- Afterwards, type in the expression that you want within the parenthesis. For this example we are typing in the expression "A+B."
- Then, press space again and type in the "close parenthesis" symbol or the "right round bracket."
- To do this, press and hold the shift key and press the "0" or " ) " key once. Once the symbol is inserted release the shift key.
- Great! We have set an expression within "round brackets" or a parenthesis. Congratulations!
