How-To: Enter an expression with a brace on top (overbrace) - OpenOffice.org Math
- To enter an expression with a brace on top or "overbrace," first click on the "math commands window" here.
- Now, once the cursor appears, you can start typing in the variables or expressions that you want UNDER the "overbrace."
- Type them within "braces" or "curly brackets" like this. Place a space in between each variable to disinguish each as a separate one.
- Then, press space again and type in the word "overbrace." This should place an "overbrace" above the variables we just specified.
- Afterwards, press space once more and type in the variable or expression that you want ABOVE the "overbrace."
- Type them within braces just like the variables before. For this example, we have typed in the variable "x."
- Great! As you can see, we have written an expression with a brace on top or "overbrace." Congratulations!
