How-To: Enter a vector scalar dot product - OpenOffice.org Math
- To enter a vector scalar dot product, first click here on the Math "commands window."
- Next, type in or paste your first vector. In this example we are using coordinates to represent the vector in a "vector column." Take note on how it looks like here on the commands window.
- Good! As you can see our first vector has appeared on the formula display.
- Now, to enter the multiplication "dot" symbol, type in the word "cdot" in the commands window.
- Good. Notice carefully, that the "dot" symbol has appeared, along with an upside down question mark as a place holder for the next value or variable.
- Now, type in or paste the next vector. This time we're placing a row vector. Take note again on how it appears here.
- Great! Our vector scalar dot product is now complete. Congratulations!
