How-To: Update the formatting of a style and apply it - OpenOffice.org
- To update or change a style and apply it, first you need to format the text with that style applied.
- To demonstrate this, we shall make changes to this heading by increasing its indentation. First, we click on it once to select it.
- Next, we increase its indentation by clicking on the "Increase Indent" button here.
- Good! We have changed this heading.
- Take note that the heading we changed, has the paragraph style "Heading 2."
- Now, to update the style so that it includes the increase in indentation, we click on the "New Style from Selection" button.
- A menu should drop down. Look for the option "Update Style" and click on it once.
- Great! We have updated the style!
- Notice that the other headings with the "Heading 2" style applied have been updated to match the changes we made.
