How-To: Add or Modify a paragraph style's border - OpenOffice.org
- To add or modify a paragraph style's border, first remember that you need to have the "Styles and Formatting" window open. You can do this quickly by pressing "F11" on the keyboard.
- For this example, we are going to modify the border of the paragraph style "Text Body Indent." This paragraph has been assigned that style.
- Now, to start, look for the paragraph style that needs to be modified here on the list. Right click over it to bring up a menu.
- Once the menu opens, click on the option "Modify..."
- The options window should open. Look for the "Borders" tab and click on it once.
- Now, choose the border options that you want to adjust.
- You can change the line arrangement options here. For this example, we are clicking on the option for left and right borders only.
- Next, you can adjust the border line's style here. Just click on the style you want.
- Next, in this area, you can adjust the border's spacing from the content.
- If you want to have uniform spacing for all the present borders just click here on the checkbox for "Synchronize."
- If you want to have uniform spacing for all the present borders, just click on the checkbox for "Synchronize."
- Afterwards, notice that setting the space for one border, should change all the others as well.
- Lastly, you can change the border's color by clicking on this down arrow here.
- Once the list drops down, click on the color you want to use.
- After choosing all that you need, just click on "OK."
- Great! Notice that the paragraph with the style "Paragraph Indent" has borders now. Congratulations!
