How-To: Overview of page style options - OpenOffice.org
- This screencast gives an overview of the options available when modifying or creating a "page style." In this example we have the "Styles and Formatting" window open to access the page style options.
- Now to start, let's look for page styles by clicking on the "Page Styles" button here.
- Next, access the page style options window by right clicking over a style...
- ...and on the menu that opens, clicking on "Modify..."
- The page style options window should open.
- The first tab you will see is the "Organizer" tab. This tab let's you change the name of the style, set the other styles linked with it and even assign a category to the style.
- Also, you can see a brief summary of the currently selected style here below.
- Next, we'll look at the "Page" tab.
- In this tab you can change the paper format, its dimensions, width, height and orientation.
- Below, you can also set the margins and the layout settings for the page.
- Next, let's take a look at the background options.
- This tab let's you set the background of the style. It can be set as a color or a graphic.
- By default, the "No Fill" color option is set. You can select a color as a background by clicking on one of the colors here on this pallete.
- Now, we'll move on to the "header."
- In this tab, you can enable or disable the appearance of the header. You can also set the header's properties like its margin spacing and height.
- Now, we go to the "Footer" tab.
- In this tab, you can enable or disable the appearance of a footer. You can also set the footer's properties like its margin spacing and height.
- Next, on to the border's tab.
- In this tab, you can set the style border's line arrangement, shadow style, line style and spacing.
- Next, we'll look at the "Columns" tab.
- In this tab you can set the number of columns for the page style and its properties like the width and spacing.
- You can also set the presence, appearance and position of a separator line between the columns here.
- Lastly, we'll look at the footnotes option for the page style.
- This tab let's you set the size of the footnotes for the page and the spacing of its text.
- Below, you can also change the properties for the separator line that divides the footnote to the text itself.
