  1. To create a new document from a template using the quickstarter, first right click over the quickstarter icon here on the system tray.
  2. Then, once the menu opens, click on the option "From Template..."
  3. The templates and documents window should open. In the templates section look for the template you want to use for the new document and click on it once.
  4. Afterwards, click on "Open."
  5. The appropriate OpenOffice application should automatically open along with the document template that you selected.
