- To start, remember that you must have the "Styles and Formatting" window open. You can do this quickly by pressing "F11" on the keyboard.
- Now, to view the options for list styles, first lets look for the styles first. Do this by clicking on the "List Styles" button here.
- Now, to access the options window, right click on a list style...
- ...and then on the menu that opens click on "Modify..."
- The numbering or list style options window should open. By default the "Organizer" tab is the one open. It is here where you can change the name of a style, its links with others as well as its category.
- Now, we'll look at the "Bullets" tab.
- In this tab, you will find the different bullet types that are available. Each frame should show what each bullet option looks like. Clicking on one of them selects the bullet type for the style.
- Next, we go to the "Numbering Style."
- In this tab you will find the different numbering options. Each frame should show what each numbering style looks like. Clicking on them should select that number option for the style.
- Next, to the outline tab.
- This tab gives a selection of outline styles. Each frame should show what the outline looks like. Clicking on one of them selects that outline option for the style.
- Now, let's look at the graphics tab.
- In this tab, you will find some more different bullet items. However, these ones in the graphics tab have color and shading effects that lets them stand out. Just click on one of them to select it for the style.
- Next, the position tab.
- In this tab you can adjust the position and spacing for the levels of the list style. You can select a single level to edit, or select all the levels if needed here.
- Now, these fields here specify the indentations, spacing, minimum space numbering and the numbering alignment. You can adjust them using their appropriate fields here.
- Lastly, let's look at the options tab.
- This tab let's you change the numbering type, the character style, and the characters themselves for each level of the list style.
- Great! This finishes the overview of the options available when modifying or creating list styles. Congratulations!
