Things to take note

Please take note that there is a difference between minimizing windows or panes and hiding or closing them. Minimizing panes or windows means that they are taken out of the main view of the but they are set to be quickly accessible when the need comes. Usually the window or panel becomes an icon, a tab or any small user interface element that can still be found within the workspace. Hiding on the other hand means virtually closing the window or pane all together.

The same is true for the difference between viewing and restoring. Viewing something like a window or pane basically means opening it, while restoring returns the window or pane to its original configuration before it was minimized. This is done by clicking on or activating the icon or other user interface element that was produced when the window or pane was minimized.

Take note of these subtle differences. This may help you understand what is happening when working most in the computer including OpenOffice.org.
