How-To: Snap objects to the grid - OpenOffice.org Impress
  1. To "snap" or align objects to the grid, you must enable the "Snap to Grid" option. Do this by first clicking here on "View."
  2. Then, on the menu that opens, move your mouse over the option "Grid."
  3. A side menu should open. Now, look for the "Snap to Grid" option and click on it once.
  4. Great! The snap to grid option has been enabled. Now objects should align automatically with the grid points.
  5. If we move this object by dragging it with the mouse...
  6. ...you should notice that it will automatically place itself in between the grid points once it is released.
  7. Basically, the object "snaps" into place with the grid like a puzzle piece into a slot.
  8. Congratulations! You have learned how to enable and use the "Snap to Grid" option.
