A Page style refers to the way a whole page looks like. More specifically, the page determines the page's size, orientation its margins, borders, background as well as the presence of footers, headers, columns and footnotes.

Open Office lets you assign these page styles quickly using the styles and formatting window.

Page styles typically let people format a whole page according to its use. For example, some of the page styles that are available, format pages to look like the index for your document or the first page of a report or thesis.
