Limit (Mathematics)
In mathematics, the concept of a "limit" is used to describe the behavior of a function
as its argument either "gets close" to some point, or as it becomes arbitrarily large; or
the behavior of a sequence's elements as their index increases indefinitely. More simply, limits
describe the "scope" or boundaries of a function as it gets infinitely close, or
infinitely large to a given point of reference or value.
Limits are used in calculus and other branches of mathematical analysis to define derivatives and continuity.
You can define the upper and lower limits of functions when your write expressions in OpenOffice.org

Creating expressions with Limits in OpenOffice.org Math
The following screencasts demonstrate how to create expressions with Limits in OpenOffice.org Math:
- Enter the expression for the limit of a sequence (n towards infinity)
- Enter the expression for the limit of a sequence
- Enter a summation expression with a lower and upper limit
- Enter a summation expression with a lower limit
