How-To: Insert the date and time into the page header - OpenOffice.org Calc
  1. This screencast demonstrates how to add the date and time to the page header of a spreadsheet.
  2. In this example we are viewing the document in the print or "Page Preview" mode to easily demonstrate what is happening.
  3. You can access the page preview mode by clicking on this icon here.
  4. Now to start, once you are in the page preview mode, click here on the "Format Page" button.
  5. The page style window should appear. Look for the "Header" tab and click on it once.
  6. Next, click here on "Edit..."
  7. The header window should open.
  8. You should see three main fields, representing the left, center and right area of the header respectively.
  9. Click on the field where you want the date and time to appear. In this example we are placing the date and time to the right area. So we are clicking here once.
  10. If there is any text you like to include before entering the date and time just type it in.
  11. Now, to add the date, look for this calendar icon and click on it once.
  12. Great! The date has now been added. Remember to add a space if you are entering anymore text or values afterwards.
  13. Next, to add the time, just click here on the clock icon.
  14. Good, the time has also been added.
  15. Once everything is done, click on "OK."
  16. Afterwards, On the page style window just click on "OK" as well.
  17. Good. Now if we zoom in at the page preview mode...
  18. ...you will notice that the date and time have appeared here on the right area of the page header.
  19. Congratulations! You have learned how to add the date and time to page headers.
